Ritossa History in SA

Ritossa History in SA

L Ritossa Furnishers was established in 1965 by its Managing Director, Louis Ritossa. It was first located in Hyde Park South Australia, where Louis used to re-cover and restore antique furniture and also began manufacturing in a small way.

After 3 years, Louis' wife, Patricia, joined the company and they moved into larger premises at Unley. Here, they produced wing back, deep button Chesterfields and spring edge suites.

Good enough for the Queen Mother's Visit to Parliament House!

Such was their growing reputation for fine craftsmanship, that Parliament House selected Ritossa's to refurbish all the antique chaise lounges, grandmother and grandfather chairs prior to a visit by the Queen Mother.

Moving to Beverley

In 1978, Ritossa's had outgrown the 7,500 square feet of the Unley premises and moved across to a 2 acre site in Beverley, west of Adelaide. Here they took pride in establishing one of the most modern and efficient upholstery factories in Australia. The Ritossa manufacturing  range had now extended to middle to upper level contemporary and traditional furniture.
